From the Founder, Mitch Belfry
The year was 2001. Fresh off a job ending injury – armed with a stack of business cards, a giant gorilla inflatable and a lot of determination, 20 year old Mitch Belfry went door-to-door on Kennedy Road in Scarborough. There were a lot of “No.” answers but he knew eventually he’d get to rent his giant King Kong to someone.
What he didn’t know is that his first customer would turn out to be one of his best and longest running business relationships. The store was TeleCity Electronics. The owner there rented the rooftop gorilla for 1 month. But before that month was up he called and said “This thing is working so well.” He asked, “How much to keep him for 6 months?” .
Balloon Boys was born. A great brand was built. Fast forward 15 years and many rentals later, Balloon Boys is a well known promotional company in the Toronto area. However, a declining pattern in the market conditions of the inflatable rental business was noticed. The company shifted gears into a custom dye sublimation printing business. The need for fabric displays and custom signs is a market that is growing very fast.
In January 2019 the company re-branded and is now known as Display Up Printing & Signs. They employ highly skilled workers to print and finish vibrant fabric displays to the highest standards in a Canadian facility.
Custom advertising flags, pop up promotional tents, advertising table covers and all types of tension fabric products for trade shows and point of sale. Fitted with state-of-the-art Mimaki wide format dye sub printers and a Montio Antonio calendar heat press, the company is a leader in the fabric printing and finishing space.
